Haunted Beautiful White Faux Fur Coat. Belonged To An Infamous Serial Killer From Her Brothel Days. Excellent Condition. Paranormal. Occult.

Our Canadian curator, B.J., visited a friend in California. They're both heavily involved in ghost hunting, and his friend showed him a few interesting finds. One of them was this jacket. B.J. was immediately drawn to it even before learning its history. This is the first time he had been heavily drawn to a feminine item, but it really pulled him in.

It's important to note that while we can't verify all of the story, we were able to verify most of it.

Here's the story . . .

The coat belonged to serial killer, Dorothea Helen Puente, also known as the Death House Landlady. She ran a boarding house in Sacramento for the elderly and disabled. She began her killing spree in the early 1980s when she was in her 50s. Since most serial killers begin earlier in life, I suspect she may have murdered before but the string of murders in the 1980s are all we know of. Her motivation was money, and she's suspected of murdering 15 people over the period of 6 years. She was tried for nine of those murders and convicted on three. She was apprehended on November 11, 1988, exactly 30 years before the original posting.

Dorothea lived to be 82 years old. She died in prison in 2011. She was married four times and had three children she gave up. When she was in her 30s in the 1960s, she owned a brothel. This jacket was from those years. Back then, she wore it often and took exceptionally good care of it. Apparently, this was her favorite jacket. and the only thing she kept with her all those years.

Since Dorothea's passing in 2011, almost everyone who possessed the jacket consistently for any length of time seemed to see visions, experience dreams, and hear her voice. Wearing the jacket caused a more interactive experience where people are believed to develop her personality traits, which were quite charming and flirty at times. It's also been reported that greed and thoughts of revenge have come to the wearer but wore off upon shedding the coat for a number of days.

In 2018, my cousin visited from Canada over the holidays. One day, she was going through my closet and found the jacket. She thought it was mine and tried it on without knowing the history. She passed out within 10 seconds. When her husband revived her, she said she had an out of body experience and had clear visions of woman at three different ages of her life - in her childhood, as a young woman, and as an old lady. My cousin was shaking uncontrollably. Later, we told her the history of the jacket, and she believes, without a doubt, that it's haunted. We can't be certain of her exact experience, but we have no reason to doubt her, and I did witness part of it. Her experience is now a part of the history of this fascinating jacket.

There is also a significance of the numbers 11 and 3 surrounding Dorothea. She was arrested on 11/11, and she died in 2011. The coat had three tags from a company called Eleven. All three tags were cut out of the coat, put in an envelope and mailed to the prison. It arrived there the day before she died in March, the third month. She had three children. She bought and wore this coat in the third decade of her adult life (her 30s). Also she was convicted on three murders. And we're posting this for the first time exactly 30 years after her arrest (3 decades) and relisting It in the 11th month. :)

This is such an extremely intriguing, unique item!

Specifics ~

It's absolutely gorgeous white faux fur. It may be acrylic or polyester. The lining seems to be satin. The closures are white hook clasps, and the jacket is cropped. It's not a heavy jacket. It could be worn in the fall, spring, or winter. There seems to be three tags that were cut out that match the story about the tags being sent to the prison. Two at the neck and one on the side. Please look at the pictures carefully. It's been stored in a heavy, sealed plastic bag (not included), so it's been protected from smoke and moisture. In recent years, it’s been stored in my foyer closet in a smoke-free house. It's in excellent condition. Not one mark on it from what we can see. The size seems to be extra small. I wear a size 3/4 – Extra Small or Small, and this jacket fits me perfectly if I'm wearing a light-weight top and snugly with a sweater. So please keep that in mind if you plan to wear it. Apparently, it has a haunting effect if it's held consistently for a while, but being wrapped in it seems to cause a more intense experience.

Shipping ~

Important: We pack every single item appropriately using bubble or pillow wrap, cushioning paper, cardboard, padded envelopes, sturdy boxes, fragile stamps, and any other necessary method to fulfill our responsibility as the shipper. Therefore, we are not responsible for damage caused by the postal service after the item leaves our hands. Any shipping problems should be directed to “claims” at the US Postal Service. The insurance included with shipping is $50 to $100. If you’d like up to $5,000, there will be a $10 fee since the cost depends on the distance and whether we use first class or priority mail for your package. We have a listing for additional insurance. Please add it to your order if you’d like additional coverage.

We only ship to addresses within the USA (including Hawaii and Alaska). If you live outside the US and want to order from us, please secure a US shipping address through a mailing service.

We proudly recycle shipping boxes for environmental and economical benefits. About 30 percent of our orders are shipped through recycled shipping boxes. We only reuse boxes that are in proper condition, and we use all new shipping envelopes and packing material.

Not all of our items have “haunting histories” so please read each listing very carefully. For the items that do have haunting histories . . .

They will arrive to you as we receive or find them. We do not “spiritually cleanse”, physically restore, or even dust off these items. They're all sold "as is". We don't want to disturb their energy state as any part of the object is an extension of that energy. If you, the new owner, decide to clean or restore the item, that's your choice, of course, but many do not. By sending the object to you the way we received it, you can make the decision rather than us making it for you.
