Here's the story . . .

The artist of this interesting picture was a truck driver named Buddy. Buddy was a long-haul truck driver from the 1970s through most of the 90s. He was a large man (around 6'4") who was extremely pleasant and easy to get along with. A little rough around the edges, but quite a good conversationalist and very social. He loved to interact with people, and he loved animals. Buddy always had a smile on his face . . . And then something changed.

Buddy started having paranormal experiences on one particular highway. For a while, the experiences only happened at night. Eventually, they started to occur in the daytime as well. Buddy rode with his dog, Roy, a beautiful German Shepherd. Often Roy would become terrified and hide in the back. That was Buddy's warning that the "black force" was coming. The "black force" was an entity that appeared in the passenger's seat of Buddy's truck. It was in human form, but it was completely black from head to toe so he couldn't make out any features at all. And it would speak. Buddy never disclosed what it said. Sometimes it would appear on the road in front of him, or on a side road as Buddy passed by. He would often see it in the backseat of passing cars. He was extremely frightened of it.

While home for several days, Buddy's wife noticed a personality change. He was withdrawn, nervous, and short-tempered. He drew a crude picture of it, explaining his experiences to his wife. He said it had been going on for years on that one stretch of highway. He never said where, exactly, but his wife knew it was somewhere in the West based upon his route schedule.

For the next trip, he left his dog home which never happened before. Perhaps Buddy wanted to keep him safe. Maybe he knew it was his last trip. Buddy's truck was found in the early morning hours with the doors open at a truck stop on the Colorado-Wyoming border.

Within one year of his disappearance, his wife began having paranormal experiences connected to the picture he drew. She saw and spoke to her husband several times. He warned her and their son about impending danger - three times over the years. She also saw black figures several times, but she wasn't frightened by them. They were always hovering close to the picture. Several times after seeing them, good fortune would come her way. Illness recovery, lottery winnings, arrival of a healthy grandchild, the quick sale of her house, a surprise vacation and so on.

The picture came to us from Buddy's son. He has been a client of ours for well over a decade. His mother recently passed on, and the picture is a painful reminder. He didn't want to destroy it. He asked us to sale it and donate a portion of the proceeds to an animal charity. His parents had a deep love for large cats so one-third of the proceeds will go to Big Cat Rescue (one of the charities we regularly donate to). Buddy's son will receive one-third of the proceeds, and we will keep the remainder, paying taxes and fees associated with it. The son set the price based on what he feels it's worth from what's it's given them over the years and the very strange experiences and disappearance of his father.

Update February 2023 ~

We sold this picture in 2019. It was returned to us on January 31, 2023. Although it produced positive results for Buddy's family, it did not have the same results for the person who owned it after them. It was bought by someone named Tracy. She bought this picture because she is a paranormal item collector, and she had years of experiences with such items.

Her life was going well until this picture entered it. Instead of good fortune and protection coming to her, the opposite happened. She lost her job of 20 years, her marriage fell apart, her daughter turned on her in favor of her father, she lost her house in the divorce, she lost her cats to her ex in the divorce, she lost over $10,000 in a scam, she wrecked her car, she started receiving threatening phone calls, and she started getting debilitating migraines for the first time in her life.

All that time, this picture hung in the room where she kept her paranormal items. When she moved and unboxed it, she had an intense experience. The "black force" that frightened Buddy appeared to her. She revealed what it told her. Apparently, it's a very ancient, dark spirit. And it told her it caused her misfortune and more heartache and despair would befall upon her unless she made a deal with it. She immediately thought Buddy's family must have made a deal with it. But she never would! Terrified, she refused and contacted us.

Over the last four years, almost everyone who saw the picture became sick. Instant migraines, vomiting, fainting, uncontrollable shaking, cold sweats, debilitating vertigo, breathing issues from panic attacks, and unexplainable collapsing. Not her, but others upon seeing the picture, including her daughter and ex-husband. She said, out of 12 people, only 2 did not have a reaction like this.

This is the reason we're now listing this under Hidden Door Objects. The picture is in our possession, and we peaked at it to verify it's the original picture by Buddy. It is. But it's covered by heavy cardstock, top and bottom, and she made us promise not to send any pictures over the internet to any potential buyers. She doesn't want to be responsible for someone becoming ill by looking at it. So part of our contract with Tracy is that we won't send any digital pictures of this item through email. You can only see it if you purchase it.

Specifics ~

The picture is very crude. It's drawn and colored with markers. Buddy was not a professional artist so expect the picture to be rough. It was created in an attempt to explain his plight to his wife. Tracy and Buddy's son believe his energy and the entity's energy are soaked in this picture. It's on regular drawing paper. The paper is well over 25 years old, and it's not perfect. It's curled on the edges, wrinkled a bit, and there's a small rip in the lower left corner. It's definitely not an object of beauty. It's an object with a paranormal history. We will send the picture to you with cardstock on the top and bottom, the way it was presented to us. That way, it will stay secure for shipping and be covered when you receive it.

This item is being sold on consignment. The owner set the price. As with the first sale, we will donate a portion of the sale of this item to Big Cat Rescue.

Shipping ~

Important: We pack every single item appropriately using bubble or pillow wrap, cushioning paper, cardboard, padded envelopes, sturdy boxes, fragile stamps, and any other necessary method to fulfill our responsibility as the shipper. Therefore, we are not responsible for damage caused by the postal service after the item leaves our hands. Any shipping problems should be directed to “claims” at the US Postal Service. The insurance included with shipping is $50 to $100. If you’d like up to $5,000, there will be a $10 fee since the cost depends on the distance and whether we use first class or priority mail for your package. We have a listing for additional insurance. Please add it to your order if you’d like additional coverage.

We only ship to addresses within the USA (including Hawaii and Alaska). If you live outside the US and want to order from us, please secure a US shipping address through a mailing service.

We proudly recycle shipping boxes for environmental and economical benefits. About 30 percent of our orders are shipped through recycled shipping boxes. We only reuse boxes that are in proper condition, and we use all new shipping envelopes and packing material.

Vintage & Antique Items ~

Not all of our items have “haunting histories” so please read each listing very carefully. For the items that do have haunting histories . . .

They will arrive to you as we receive or find them. We do not “spiritually cleanse”, physically restore, or even dust off these items. They're all sold "as is". We don't want to disturb their energy state as any part of the object is an extension of that energy. If you, the new owner, decide to clean or restore the item, that's your choice, of course, but many do not. By sending the object to you the way we received it, you can make the decision rather than us making it for you.

Energy cannot be destroyed but can be transferred or transformed. So maybe it’s not such a far-reaching, kooky, or ridiculous idea that intelligent energy could attach to a special object. However, attachment and expression are two different things. Just because a haunted object exists doesn’t necessarily mean it will produce a paranormal result. Perhaps the intelligence behind it needs to be in a comfortable and secure position before reacting. So please allow time for your object to bond to you before you see results of any spiritual manifestations. Bonding could happen immediately, or it could happen in six months or a year. In some cases, it doesn't happen at all for one person but a friend or a family member or even a pet could cause a reaction. If you're magnetically drawn to an item, it's meant for you. That doesn't mean it will open up to you immediately. But it does mean, it most likely will.
