This is an exclusive item. The story behind it is disturbing.
Here’s The Story . . .
The Secret Garden was the favorite book of a girl named, Heather. She and her family lived with her paternal grandmother, and Heather was very close to her. Her beloved grandmother read parts of The Secret Garden to her every night before bed, and it held a special place in her heart. It was a part of her childhood, and she associated it with memories of her dear grandmother.
Heather’s grandmother passed away on Heather’s 14th birthday. She was devastated. Her grandmother’s passing disrupted every aspect of her life. She stopped going to school. She wouldn’t speak to her friends. She wouldn’t participate in social activities. Her grief touched everything! Even her birthday brought a day full of tears. She slowly started making her way back into the world after having a series of dreams of her grandmother encouraging her to get on with her life.
In the years that followed, Heather’s parents divorced. Her father moved to Europe. It seemed like he was trying to erase his former life because it was too painful. This was confirmed when Heather reached out to him after his move, and he told her not to contact him again. Her mother remarried, and she and her step-father didn’t get along. Eventually, he told her to leave and find a place of her own. She was 20 years old when she moved to the other side of the country and heartbreakingly broke ties with her mother who didn’t seem to care. She got a job as a waitress in a cafe and enrolled part-time in college. She didn’t know a soul, and she felt completely alone in the world.
In January 2001, Heather turned 21. She celebrated, alone, in her broken down apartment with a cupcake and a candle. She cried herself to sleep. Then there was a knock at the door. She woke to find a gift on the dirty floor. It was perfectly wrapped with a big bow on top. Nobody was around. She quickly closed the door and opened the package. It was this book. A beautiful velvet, hardcover, luxury edition of her favorite novel, The Secret Garden. She cried tears of joy at remembering her beloved grandmother and tears of sorrow because she was no longer by her side . . . Or was she?
Every night, Heather read a chapter in the book, and she had dreams of her grandmother. She wrote everything in her diary. She was writing a novel, herself, inspired by The Secret Garden. This went on for a year or so. Very intricate diary entries about her grandmother, her job, love interests, her reading, and her writing. Then tragedy hit.
In February of 2002, at the age of 22, Heather was found deceased in her apartment. The cause of her death was strangulation by hanging. She was hanging from a noose between the kitchen and living room. Her apartment showed forced entry, and it was obvious someone went through her things. Some of her money, keys, and coats were missing. But the police were baffled. They believed Heather committed suicide and the break-in occurred after her passing. She was dead for several days, and her neighbors only noticed the damaged door that day.
Heather didn’t have any family or friends for the landlady to call to clean out her apartment, so she had to clean it out herself. She threw away most of her things, but not everything. Heather’s diary and this book are among the items she kept. She gave this book to her own 11-year old daughter, Juliana.
The first thing Juliana noticed about the book was a handwritten piece of paper inside that read:
Did I die?
This frightened her, and she brought the paper to her mother who immediately tossed it in the trash. The next day, another note was found on top of the book, written with Juliana’s crayon, asking the same question.
Did I die?
This time, Juliana replied and said, “yes.” After that, strange things started happening.
The book was often found in a room it wasn’t left in. Juliana and her mother heard light footsteps at night and whispering outside their bedroom doors. The lights would turn on and off in the living room and kitchen. There was a tense, uneasiness in the home. After several months, the visions started. They were always within a few feet of the book which rested on Juliana’s nightstand. After a while, Juliana said Heather would come to her at night, sit in a chair next to her bed, and recite The Secret Garden. At first, she was afraid, but then Juliana welcomed Heather and looked forward to her visits. After she welcomed Heather, the atmosphere changed to a calm, comfortable, peaceful situation.
Heather confided in Juliana as she got older and told her the circumstances of her death. Juliana never revealed any of it at Heather’s request. Heather also warned Juliana about who to trust and who would betray her. Heather became physically protective of Juliana when a girl tried to hit her during a slumber party. Apparently, the girl was suddenly thrown against the wall by an unseen force. This happened at another time when Juliana’s cousin was visiting for the holidays. She pushed Juliana down a flight of stairs and was immediately pushed herself by an unseen hand. Juliana’s fall was broken in mid air. Her cousin, however, smashed her head against the wall. Juliana turned to Heather with problems and found her advice to always be dead-on accurate. Heather even saved Juliana’s life once, too. She warned her not to go to school that day and there ended up being a shooting in the playground and several kids were hit. Heather and Juliana shared an intense, sisterly bond over the years.
Juliana has since grown up and has a child of her own. She hasn’t seen a vision of Heather since her son was born, but she feels her presence in the house and has heard her voice. It was always close to the room where this book was stored. Every time her child was in the room with the book, he would become hysterical and terrified. Even if the book was in a closet, the same reaction would occur if the child was close by. With a heavy heart, Juliana made the decision to sell the book. After she made that decision, Heather spoke. This is exactly what Heather said:
“To the new caretaker of my beautiful book, The Secret Garden. Don’t fear it, and don’t fear me. I am moody, dramatic, and often sad because of so many disappointments and tragedies. But I am also possessive, protective, and kind. Treat this book with respect and don’t forget to welcome me into your home.”
We bought this book directly from Juliana. She said Heather is active, mostly, in December, January, and February. There were times when she didn’t see or hear anything from Heather for many months, then she would reappear again and be present every day for weeks or months. This happens all year around, but her most active time is winter.

Vintage & Antique Items ~
Not all of our items have “haunting histories” so please read each listing very carefully. For the items that do have haunting histories . . .
They will arrive to you as we receive or find them. We do not “spiritually cleanse”, physically restore, or even dust off these items. They're all sold "as is". We don't want to disturb their energy state as any part of the object is an extension of that energy. If you, the new owner, decide to clean or restore the item, that's your choice, of course, but many do not. By sending the object to you the way we received it, you can make the decision rather than us making it for you.
Energy cannot be destroyed but can be transferred or transformed. So maybe it’s not such a far-reaching, kooky, or ridiculous idea that intelligent energy could attach to a special object. However, attachment and expression are two different things. Just because a haunted object exists doesn’t necessarily mean it will produce a paranormal result. Perhaps the intelligence behind it needs to be in a comfortable and secure position before reacting. So please allow time for your object to bond to you before you see results of any spiritual manifestations. Bonding could happen immediately, or it could happen in six months or a year. In some cases, it doesn't happen at all for one person but a friend or a family member or even a pet could cause a reaction. If you're magnetically drawn to an item, it's meant for you. That doesn't mean it will open up to you immediately. But it does mean, it most likely will.
